Rethink says more evidence of fish oil benefits needed
Rethink has claimed that more evidence needs to be gathered before healthcare professionals can consider using fish oils as medication for schizophrenia and psychosis.
A spokesperson for the mental health charity responded to the publication of a new report by noting that there is currently insufficient proof that such nutrients could replace antipsychotic drugs.

Genders deal with stress differently, says ISMA
The International Stress Management Association (ISMA) has pointed out that men and women have different ways of coping with stress and it would be too much of a generalisation to say that one sex experiences such emotions more than the other.
Ann McCracken, chair of the organisation, made her remarks after a Mintel survey published recently claimed that men are more likely than women to say that they have no major worries, with 55 per cent of males in this category compared to 45 per cent of females.

No magic bullet to end teen drinking problems, says Addaction
Addaction has claimed that there is no easy answer to the problem of young people drinking alcohol, but pointed out that raising the price of some alcoholic beverages could help the situation.
Spokesperson for the drug and alcohol addiction charity Elliot Elam pointed out that consumption rates are "closely linked" to how much such drinks cost.

NIACE bemoans potential impact of funding cuts
The National Institute of Adult Continuing Education (NIACE) has claimed that funding cuts could see fewer opportunities for people to develop their skills.
Alastair Thomson, principal policy officer at the organisation, made his comments regarding the news that the Association of Colleges is set to see a £200 million cut in the amount of money it receives for adult learners.

Runnymede Trust notes higher education diversity issue
The Runnymede Trust has suggested that schools have a significant role to play in ensuring that more ethnic minorities are accepted into top UK universities.
Dr Rob Berkeley, director of the organisation, explained that when he attended Oxford University he was one of four black men in the year and he does not feel that these figures are improving.
